A Skin Cancer Center of Excellence

At Yorba Linda Dermatology, our providers are experienced in diagnosing and treating all forms of skin conditions that may require surgery. Our fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeons have extensive experience in the cosmetic repair of the skin. Many of these procedures are minimally invasive and require only a local anesthetic, decreasing risk and post-op recovery time. Our patients can take comfort in our team’s surgical expertise and professional commitment to skin cancer treatment.

Basal Cell & Squamous Cell Skin Cancers

One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime. The good news is that a vast majority of these are basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers that can be cured if detected early. Whether its Mohs micrographic surgery, topical immunotherapy or radiation treatment, we will discuss all the options and recommend therapies based on the location and type of skin cancer you have.

Cyst Removal

Ever had a pimple under your skin that won’t go away? It’s called a cyst and it can’t be removed by squeezing it. As a matter of fact, squeezing a cyst can cause it to grow or become inflamed. The only way to get rid of it is by surgical removal of the cyst and the wall that contains it. This is a routine in-office procedure that is fast and effective.

Malignant Melanoma

Early detection is still our best defense against melanoma since the thickness of a melanoma is one the best predictors of how aggressive it will be. Thin melanomas can be surgically treated right here in our office and have a very good prognosis. More aggressive melanomas may require adjunctive testing or therapy requiring us to work in conjunction with oncologists or surgeons. Over the past 10 years, our understanding has increased dramatically. New treatments have demonstrated substantial tumor shrinkage, a prolonged remission interval, and even improved overall survival — benefits never achieved before. Read More.
